The 8th Annual Central Connecticut TOY DRIVE to Benefit the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Foundation is now collecting new unwrapped toys, infant and children’s clothing, infant necessities and books. Toys that are safe and appropriate for Hospitalized infants, children or teenagers. The toys are used for children who enter the emergency room, have any type of procedures; both surgical and non surgical, for use in the waiting rooms and the toy cart. Toys and clothes are often given to the less fortunate children. During the holidays the toys are distributed by Santa as he goes room to room for those who cannot leave and have to spend the holidays at the Medical Center. These are just samples of your generous donations at work. 100% of all donations go directly to the CCMC Foundation.
In 2016 there was participation from companies such as Core Builders Farmington, CT, Pro Health Partners of Monroe, CT, Bulldog Amusements of Berlin, CT and Cipher Creative Group Berlin CT.
Sign-ups for Spring baseball and softball won't be up until January/February but we have had some questions regarding the baseball Junior division for 13-15 year olds. As some of you may have heard there will be a Swanson travel team available that some players may elect to join. This is an alternative to BLL and will not preclude us from having a Junior division in BLL available also. If you have any questions regarding the Junior division or the Swanson travel team, please let me know.
As Fall Ball draws to a close this week; we at the Berlin Little League would like to thank each and every one of you and your children for participating in another great baseball and/or softball season!
A special thank you to all of the volunteers and parents that make this organization and made this season possible. You all work tirelessly to help the league run, teach children the game, organize schedules, run concessions, prep the fields, get the kids to practice and games, and on, and on... and on!! You make a difference, your efforts do not go unnoticed and we appreciate all you've done. It takes a village as they say and we are always looking for help with next year so please let us know so we can get you involved!
