Berlin's own Dave Swanson has offered to work with us to put on a FREE Coach's clinic for any and all that would like to attend whether you coach baseball or softball. These clinics are intended to give you some basic strategies for running practices and helpful drills to run with your teams. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions... but only one! Just kidding, ask away!!
We will be having TWO sessions based on the player's baseball/softball age. These clinics will be held on Garrity and Pulcini Field at Griswold School on Saturday, April 8 between 9am and 12:30pm. Please come to the appropriate slot based on the division(s) you coach in as the strategies vary slightly due to differences in ability in the two age groups.
Divisions Aged 5-8 years old: Saturday 4/8 from 9a-10:30a
Divisions Aged 9-12 years old: Saturday 4/8 from 11a-12:30p
Have questions? Contact Joe Miller, or via mobile, 860-209-8367.
Congratulations to the players below for their selection to the Majors Division of BLL! We would like to thank every player who tried out and appreciate their efforts. Those players who were not selected to the Majors Division have been placed in the Minors Division.
Swanson Baseball is proud to offer details for the 2017 April Vacation Baseball Camp for students (age 6-12) at the Petit Baseball Complex in Berlin. This annual camp will be led by Dave and his energetic staff during the four days, focusing on the fundamentals that promote developmental growth. We are excited to have Mike Radlbeck working with us this year as well. He is a certified trainer who will take the kids through speed & agility drills to help improve their athleticism.
Players will be grouped according to age: 6/7, 8/9, 9/10, 11/12. Complete details are on the attached document. If interested reserving a roster spot please email me at your earliest convenience as it is First Come, First Served. Please confirm students age in order for us to place him/her in the appropriate age group.
As with all of our camps/programs the primary focus is on teaching all areas of the game. There will be batting practice each day, as well as base running, IF and OF, bunting, and situational baseball. We will also introduce and work on pitching during the the four days as well. I look forward to sharing from my 22 years of professional experience, including the most up-to-date teaching philosophies being taught in the Major Leagues today.
